Watch: Saudi-based Keralite claims Dh25 million in Big Ticket draw
Next draw on January 3 to unveil Dh30 million winner for the New Year
ABU DHABI – An Indian expat living in Saudi Arabia has started the final month of the year with life-changing news after winning the Dh25 million grand prize in the latest Big Ticket Abu Dhabi draw.
Rajan P V, a 52-year-old quality control supervisor from Kerala, secured the jackpot with ticket number 282824, purchased on 9 November. The winning announcement was made during the live show on Wednesday, with the hosts joined by last month’s grand prize winner, Saravanan Venkatachalam, who picked the winning ticket.
Rajan, who has spent 30 years in Saudi Arabia with his family, has been trying his luck with Big Ticket for 15 years. What began as a casual suggestion from friends gradually evolved into a long-running tradition shared with a syndicate of 16 close companions. He admitted he was not watching the show live when his name was called but soon learned that he had struck one of the biggest prizes of the year.
Speaking after the win, Rajan described the moment as “overwhelming”, adding that the shared ticket made the victory even more meaningful. “This winning ticket was purchased with my group. This is truly a dream come true for every one of us,” he said. He added that he intends to divide the prize equally among the group. From his personal share, he hopes to support charity initiatives and set aside a portion for his family.
Other winners
Big Ticket’s Dream Car Series also delivered a major prize, with a Maserati Grecale awarded to Bangladeshi expat Mohammed Rubel Siddque Ahmed. He purchased winning ticket number 020002 on 17 November.
Meanwhile, ten additional participants each took home Dh100,000 in consolation prizes. The winners included Indian, Bangladeshi, Filipino, Chinese and Canadian expats across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah.
